Vaidya is new Treasury Head for Centurion
Mumbai: Centurion Bank has appointed Tarini Vaidya
as its new Treasury Head. She replaces P.P. Mendes, who
continues in the team.
Earlier,
Tarini Vaidya has worked with HSBC Software Development,
India, prior to which she was CEO of Belgium's KBC Bank
in Mumbai. Vaidya's induction into the bank is part of
the ongoing management restructuring at the bank, according
to a release.

Amit
Sharma is Motorola India country president
New Delhi: Motorola has named its vice-president,
Amit Sharma, as the Country President of Motorola India
Pvt Ltd. He is already serving as Cluster President, with
Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines and Vietnam under
his jurisdiction. According to a company statement, this
appointment will be in addition to his existing responsibilities.
Sharma
has been a member of Motorola's Asia-Pacific Management
Board since 1996 and has played a key role in developing
the company's Asia-Pacific strategy. He served as Country
President of Motorola India from 1992 to 1999.

Jayakumar
to head Citigroup's consumer finance
Mumbai: Citigroup has announced the appointment
of P.S. Jayakumar as Region Head for Asia-Pacific (Consumer
Finance). P.R. Seshadri, formerly in charge of Marketing
- Consumer Loans, will now take over from Jayakumar as
Consumer Finance head in India, according to a press note
from Citigroup. These changes come into effect from January
1, 2004,.

Unique honour for AP scientist
Hyderabad: Dr Mannava V.K. Sivakumar, an agri-meteorologist,
has been elected as member of the Royal Academy of Overseas
Sciences of Belgium. The Technical Sciences section of
the Academy, to which he has been elected, has a maximum
of 60 members, 10 of them foreign. Dr Sivakumar, Chief
of Agricultural Meteorology Division of the World Meteorological
Organisation (WMO), Switzerland is the only Indian among
the 10, according to a release. The
Guntur-born scientist has carried out agro-climatology
research at the International Crops Research Institute
for the Semi-Arid Tropics (Icrisat).
