Police identify Moroccan suspects
Madrid: The Spanish police have said that they had detained an Algerian in the Basque city of San Sebastian The police have identified five new Moroccan suspects in the train bombings according to a spanish newspaper El Pais. The newspaper also said that the two Indians who were arrested earlier had been released, though the government has not confirmed the same.

Spain's Zapatero says Bush and Blair lied
Madrid: Spain's Prime Minister-elect, the Socialist Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero has pledged to bring troops home from Iraq and in a radio address has accused the British Prime Minister, Tony Blair, and the U.S. President, George Bush, of lying about the war.

A bitter row in the meantime has erupted over allegations whether the outgoing Aznar government had tried to fool voters into thinking that the Basque separatist group Eta was to blame for the attacks. Workers at the state news agency EFE have demanded that news executives be sacked for allegedly manipulating reporting of the attacks in a manner to make it appear that the Basque terrorist group ETA was to blame.
