Sensex welcomes new week: Drops 78
Sensex has started the week with a 78.04-point drop and the S&P CNX Nifty with a 40.1-point drop. The Sensex ended the day at 5365.4 and the Nifty at 1685.

Losers
21 stocks, out of the 30 that constitute the Sensex, closed on a weak note on Monday. The list includes Tata Steel, Tata Motors, Infosys Technologies and Satyam Computer, Ashok Leyland, Mahindra & Mahindra, Eicher Motors, Bank of India, Thermax, Uniphos Enterprises
Reliance Industries dropped by Rs.15.05 to Rs.507.95
Tata Steel dropped by Rs.23.10 or 6 per cent to Rs.365.15.
Mahindra & Mahindra declined by Rs.29.25 or 6.5 per cent to Rs.421.35. Tata Motors lower by Rs.20.45 at Rs.433.9.
Bank of India price dropped by 10.5 per cent to close at Rs.52.10
Thermax dropped by Rs.26.85 to Rs.357.15.
Uniphos Enterprises lost Rs.25.65 to Rs.460.05.
Moser Baer closed at Rs.239.75, down 7.36 per cent
Dredging Corporation down 8.31 per cent at Rs.460.10

Gainers
Cipla, Hindalco Industries and Hindustan Lever ING Vysya, Aventis Pharma and Lupin were the handful of gainers.
Cipla increased by Rs.37.10 to close at Rs.1, 143.95
Hindustan Lever a rise of Rs.1.65 to close at Rs.149.55
GTL moved up from Rs.76.25 to Rs.80.70
SSI increased by 6.4 per cent to Rs.148.45
Lupin increased by Rs.23.10 to Rs.671.7
Aventis Pharma increased by Rs.15.85 to Rs.702.65

Reliance Capital picks up 5 per cent in Adlabs
Mumbai: Finance firm Reliance Capital Ltd has acquired 1.12 million shares in cinematic film processing company Adlabs Films Ltd, the National Stock Exchange (NSE) said on Monday.

The shares represent 5.23 percent of Adlabs's outstanding share capital, the exchange said.
