Sensex up 120
After dropping to a low of 5743.58, during the day the Sensex closed at 5904.52 with a gain of 120.73-points over Monday. The S&P CNX Nifty closed higher by 40.25 points at 1878.45. The BSE TECk index was up 5.62 per cent at 1289.84 while the CNX-IT Index closed at 21923.6 with a 7.1 per cent increase.

BSE hikes membership fee to Rs 90 lakh
Mumbai: The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) has decided to increase its membership fee from Rs 65 lakh last year to Rs 90 lakh this year. BSE in a statement said the exchange has decided to admit 25 members in the cash segment for a minimum entrance fee of Rs 90 lakh. The BSE has invited applications for membership and the governing board has decided to accept the top 25 applications, the exchange said. The membership is open to individuals or corporates, except subsidiaries of recognised stock exchanges, it said.
