Nasscom: Jerry Rao is new Chairman
New Delhi: The MphasiS BFL Chairman and Chief executive Officer (CEO), Jerry Rao, has been appointed as the Chairman of the National Association of Software and Service Companies (Nasscom) for 2004-05.
S Ramadorai, Chief Executive Officer of TCS, has been appointed as the Vice-Chairman for the apex body of information technology companies in the country. Speaking on his appointment Rao said that Nasscom will attempt to put in place a long term vision that would look beyond revenue targets to focus on multiple parameters of the industry's value proposition with measurable indices to define them.

Mumbai: Patni Computer Systems Ltd has inducted Michael. A. Cusumano, professor and business strategist, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), as an independent director on its board. Prior to its public offering, Patni had inducted five professionals as independent directors last year. According to an official release, the appointment is in line with the company's efforts to bring global expertise at the board level to help shape business strategy, growth and vision.

UK Asian rich list released
London: The 68 year old business tycoon, Sir Gulam Noon, Chairman of Noon products, has won the Asian Business Award for Community Services. According to the top 200 Asian rich list released on the occasion, the richest Asians were Mike Jatania and family (cosmetics and beauty products) worth 500 million pounds, followed by Vijay and Bhikhu Patel (pharmaceuticals) worth 425 million pounds and Tom Singh (fashion) worth 330 million pounds. Lord Swaraj Paul and family emerged as the fourth richest in the UK with a total wealth of 250 million pounds.
