New Managing Director for RITES
New Delhi: V.K. Agarwal, a member of Indian Railway Service of Engineers (IRSE), has been appointed Managing Director of the Rail India Technical and Economic Services Ltd. (RITES), a public sector undertaking of the Ministry of Railways.

Earlier, Agarwal was Chief Administrative Officer (Construction) and Divisional Railway Manager, Delhi in the Northern Railway. He also held several positions in the Railway Board and the Zonal Railways. A civil engineer, Agarwal brings with him the experience and expertise in construction of railway infrastructure including bridge management, track laying and mechanised track maintenance.

A book titled "Engineering Economics and Industrial Management", co-authored by Agarwal, is a standard textbook in engineering colleges across the country for the last 20 years.
