UK
call centres alive and well
London, UK: A study commissioned by the Department
of Trade and Industry in the UK has said that call centre
"
sector is healthy, and is set to employ over
1 million people by 2007, four times more than India in
the same year."
The
findings from 'The UK Contact Centre Industry: A Study'
said the skills of the call centre workforce needed further
improvement, particularly in "soft skills" like
communication and customer service. It said that the UK
call centres should compete with offshore centres on the
basis of improving quality rather than cost.

Sting-Free: High-Tech Shoe Insert
Philadelphia, USA: Athletes depend on the foot's
26 bones, 33 joints, and 100 muscles, tendons and ligaments
to get them through their event as winners. Since one-half
ton of force comes down on the foot every time a star
athlete runs, this impact can cause harmful shockwaves
through the legs and body. The Sting-Free shoe insert
is now available as a high-tech solution to the pain and
trauma of surface contact vibration and shock.
According to the company clinically proven in independent
tests, the Sting-Free shoe insert will absorb up to 80
per cent of the impact shock and harmful vibration that
happens to the athletes' feet and body. Sting-Free reduces
the tremendous half-ton of force that can provoke muscle
aches, joint pains, and even bone breakage putting the
team stars on the bench or sidelines. Sting-Free was developed
by two sports medicine physicians Drs. Carmen DiMario
and Thomas Falone. Sting-Free's effectiveness stems from
its proprietary three-layer composition.
