New Delhi: The Congress party has been invited
by President A P J Kalam to meet him again today with
letters of support from its pre-poll allies.

57 years later BJP parivar finally starts the Quit
India movement
New Delhi: NDA convenor and old time socialist
leader George Fernandes has said that it will not boycott
the swearing-in ceremony of the Congress-led coalition
government if AICC President Sonia Gandhi does not become
the Prime Minister. He made this statement after a meeting
of the alliance at the outgoing Prime Minister Atal Bihari
Vajpayee's residence today.
When Samajawadis shun food and begin to hurt
New Delhi: According to the Samajwadi Party, it
has been "insulted" by the Congress, which has
not consulted it on the formation of the government. According
to their intrepid spokesman, Amar Singh, nobody from the
alliance has talked to them, other than comrade Surjeet
and the CPM.
He has complained that the Congress did not acknowledge
the SP support even when he had landed up for Sonia's
dinner, which reports have suggested was without invitation.
He clarified that he had gone there on the suggestion
of comrade Surjeet. He also clarified that he did not
eat anything there.

Input
output norms notified for 20 export items
New Delhi: THE Directorate-General of Foreign Trade
(DGFT) has notified standard input output norms for 20
new export items. Out of the 20 new norms, 16 norms relate
to chemical and allied products, and one each to engineering
products, plastic products, textile products and miscellaneous
products. An official release said that fixation of these
norms would facilitate issuance of advance licences to
the exporters of the 20 items without any need for referring
the same to the DGFT headquarters on repeat basis. The
DGFT has also made corrections/amendments/deletions in
the norms for 20 existing products.
