EU to endorse Russia's entry into WTO
Moscow: Russia and the European Union have signed a protocol which endorses EU backing for Russia's accession to the World Trade Organisation. In turn Russian President Vladimir Putin said Moscow would look positively towards the ratification of the Kyoto protocol.

No fewer than 55 countries must ratify the Kyoto Protocol, accounting for at least 55 percent of global emissions in 1990, in order that the protocol may come into force. Russia's ratification is essential if this minimum has to be reached, because the US and several other key countries have rejected the treaty.
