Tata
Steel and temporary staff arrive at agreement
Mumbai: Tata Steel has signed an agreement to settle
the long outstanding issue of temporary employees.
Salient features of the settlement include that all temporary
employees will be eligible for cash option in lieu of
employment with the benefits under cash option ranging
from a minimum of Rs 50,000 at 59 yrs of age to a maximum
of Rs 3.5 lakh up to 30 years of age.

Cenzer may produce Sagem items in
India
Kolkata: The Mumbai-based Cenzer Industries Ltd,
manufacturers of Cenzer branded watches, may join hands
with the French major Group Sagem SA for producing office
automation and consumer electronics items in India. The
company is in talks with cellular operators such as Hutch
and Airtel for a marketing agreement for its mobile phones.
One such arrangement has already been worked out in Andhra
Pradesh with Airtel. Currently Cenzer is Sagem's sole
distribution agent of its GSM mobile phones in India.
The product has already been launched in several parts
of India and was recently introduced in West Bengal and
Orissa.

Limtex
Tea launches premium dust tea
Visakhapatnam: Limtex Tea and Industries Limited,
the flagship company of the Limtex group based at Kolkata,
has launched its Royal Silver Premium Dust tea. The company,
which has been in the tea business for the past 25 years,
was hoping to improve its exports, especially with Iraq
seeking to raise imports of Indian teas. The company said
an MoU had been signed with Iraq enabling Limtex to export
50 million kgs of tea, which would greatly boost the company's
exports.
