Drop
in foodgrain output seen
Mumbai: The government has scaled down the estimate
of foodgrain production in 2003-04 to 210.78 million tonnes
from 212.2 million tonnes projected in February.
The
drop is largely a result of the lowering of the wheat
output estimate from 76.12 million tonnes to 72.74 million
tonnes.
