Oil prices fall after Opec decision to boost output
Singapore: Oil prices fell in Asian trade on Monday amid continuing optimism over OPEC's decision to raise its output ceilings, dealers said. At 11:45 am (0915 IST), the benchmark New York light, sweet crude contract for July was at $38.36 a barrel, down from 38.49 in New York on Friday. Oil prices have been steadily declining since Wednesday, the day before the Organisation of Oil Exporting Countries met in Beirut to announce a boost in production quotas.

GM ex-chairman James Roche Dies
Florida: James M Roche, the formerchairman of General Motors Corp, died on Sunday at his home. He was 97. Roche, who was born in Elgin, Illinois, started as a statistical researcher with GM in 1927. In a career that lasted more than 40 years at the automotive giant, he was named president, CEO and chairman of theboard. He is a member of the automotive Hall of Fame.
