Reliance
Energy to buy back shares
Mumbai: Reliance Energy Ltd's board of directors
has approved a plan to spend a maximum of Rs 350 crore
to buy back equity shares of the company from the public
at a maximum price of Rs 525 per share. Reliance Energy
shares on Wednesday closed at Rs 540.05 on the Bombay
Stock Exchange.

Tube
Investments: Bonus and 100 per cent dividend
Chennai: The board of directors of Tube Investments
of India Ltd has recommended an issue of one bonus share
for each equity share of Rs 10 face value. It has also
recommended a dividend of Rs 10 per share (100 per cent).
The
company has posted a 20-per cent increase in income from
operations and a 134-per cent increase in net profit for
the quarter ended March 31, 2004 over the corresponding
quarter in the previous year. During 2003-04, TI's net
profit was Rs 82.49 crore on income of Rs 1,157.08 crore
compared to a net profit of Rs 45.89 crore on income of
Rs 1,086.57 crore in the previous year.

Sierra Atlantic establishes testing
laboratory
Hyderabad:Sierra Atlantic, an enterprise application
integration solutions provider, has established an interoperability
laboratory to help both hardware and software product
developers. The lab will have the facility to handle testing,
validation as also certification for quality in a remote
processing mode, all over the Web. At a press conference
the company said that for enterprises integrating new
hardware and software into an existing IT infrastructure
without adequate testing could result in flawed systems.

upgrades Student System
Hyderabad: Oracle Corporation has announced that
it has expanded the functionality of the Oracle Student
System, a component of Oracle E-Business Suite, designed
to manage the full cycle of the higher education environment.
With this release, this system contains more than 70 new
features to help institutions expand student services,
reduce operational costs and comply with increasingly
complex regulatory and security environments. According
to Oracle, the new release helps institutions streamline
student, faculty and staff access to appropriate information,
expand instant transactional capabilities and enhances
communication with existing and prospective students.

Tourism
Malaysia and Myanmar Air extend package
New Delhi: Tourism Malaysia and Myanmar Airways
have decided to extend the six-day five-night package
covering Yangon and Malaysia till the end of September
this year. The six-day five-night package, which costs
Rs 19,999 per person, was earlier supposed to end on July
31 this year. The two organisations have also decided
to organise road shows in various towns in north India,
including Ludhiana, Chandigarh, Lucknow, Shimla and Jaipur,
to popularise the package. The cost of the package includes
not only travel to Yangon and Kuala Lumpur on Myanmar
Airways but also a two-night stay each in Kuala Lumpur
and Genting Highland and a one-day stay in Myanmar.
