Pakistan turns down Jet and Sahara
New Delhi:
Pakistan has declined an Indian proposal for allowing flights of the private carriers Jet Airways and Air Sahara. According to official sources, Islamabad said it preferred to consolidate the air services currently being operated by the national carriers of the two countries, Indian Airlines and Pakistan International Airlines (PIA).

Chinese foreign trade up 37 per cent
Beijing: China's foreign trade totalled $423.84 billion during the first five months of this year, a growth of 37.1 per cent on year-on-year basis. The figure included exports worth $207.59 billion and $216.25 bn in imports during January-May period, statistics released by the Chinese general administration of customs said. China exported $113.59 billion worth of machinery and electronic goods in the five months, up 44.2 per cent, which accounted for 54.7 per cent of the country's total exports.
