BSNL to invest Rs 14,700 cr in FY05
New Delhi: State-owned BSNL will invest Rs 14,700 crore in expanding its primarily GSM and CDMA based mobile telecom networks during 2004-05.
The amount will be invested in setting up 15 million GSM lines and three million CDMA lines. Out of this, Rs4500 crore is being planned for rural telecom during the year in which BSNL would replace 50 per cent of the MARR village public telephones of about 50,000 and provide 24,000 new VPTs. Sixteen thousand of these new VPTs would be satellite based.

Moser Baer FY04 net up at Rs323.85cr
Mumbai: Moser Baer India Ltd has posted a net profit of Rs 323.85 crore for the year ended March 31, 2004 (FY-04) as compared to a net profit of Rs 237.27 crore for the year ended March 31, 2003 (FY-03). Total turnover has increased from Rs 1114.33 crore in FY-03 to Rs 1602.18 crore in FY-04. The Board of Directors have recommended a dividend of 15 per cent on the paid up equity share capital of the company.
