Barclay brothers to take over the Daily Telegraph
Chicago: Hollinger International Inc has agreed to sell its Telegraph Group of publications, which includes The Daily Telegraph, The Sunday Telegraph, and The Spectator, to the billionaire Barclay brothers for about $1.3 billion.

The sale to Press Acquisitions, controlled by David and Frederick Barclay, is expected to be completed July 30, the Chicago-based Hollinger International has said.

The Barclay brothers own several newspapers in the United Kingdom. Their Hollyrood Holdings group, which owns Press Acquisitions, owns The Scotsman, Scotland on Sunday and The Business.

Asian Paints may acquire stake in Israeli firm
Jerusalem: Indian paints major Asian Paints has submitted a preliminary bid to acquire up to half of Israeli company, Tambour.Tambour has notified the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange that it had received a number of inquiries from companies interested in buying its shares.
