HAL to overhaul Navy's Sea King helicopters
Bangalore: Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) and the Indian Navy on Monday signed an MoU that will enable HAL to shortly get into the business of overhaul and repair of Sea King naval helicopter transmission system components.

The Navy is also financing a Rs 71.68-crore project at HAL's helicopter division in Bangalore that includes a new overhaul facility. HAL is also acquiring technology for this from the maker of Sea Kings, the British Westland Helicopter Ltd. The contract for technology transfer was signed in March. The facility is to be ready by the end of this fiscal year. HAL described the creation of the facility as a milestone in indigenous generic repair and full overhaul. "The project will go a long way in enhancing the fleet serviceability of Sea King helicopters and reducing the down time," HAL said in a release.

Satyam to raise headcount at Chennai
Chennai: Satyam Computer Services Ltd has said that it would add 1,500 persons to its existing strength of 2,300 in Chennai. The company has inaugurated its 1.5 lakh sq. ft center, located in what is now being called the IT corridor of Chennai, connecting the city to the town of Mahabalipuram.

Gillette's MACH 3 Turbo
New Delhi: Gillette India has unveiled the next generation triple blade shaving system `MACH 3 Turbo', which features anti-friction blades, protective skin guard, a new patented lubricating system and an improved razor handle with an ergonomically-enhanced grip.

Gillette India has one razor and blade manufacturing unit in Bhiwadi (Rajasthan) and another one in Chennai for oral care. The razor and blade business contributes 65 per cent of the company's total sales. The company has four divisions — grooming, personal care, oral care and battery. In value terms, the Indian shaving products market about is Rs 600 crore.
