FIIs net purchasers in equities till
June 2004
Mumbai: Net FII investment, that is equities plus
debt, in the Indian markets has shot up from Rs 94,102.4
crore as on December end to Rs 1,09,989.3 crore on June
30, 2004. The
number of registered FIIs increased to 569 from 517 during
the same period, according to data from SEBI.
The
foreign institutional investors (FIIs) have netted purchases
of Rs 15,897.3 crore in equities while recording net sales
of Rs 154.2 crore in debt market for first six months
ended June in 2004. SEBI
data shows that in the month of April, FIIs netted inflows
of Rs 7,638.2 crore in equities, the highest for the six
months and netted sales of Rs 918.7 crore in debt market
during the same month.
