up 85 points on thin volumes
Mumbai: The 30-share Sensex of the BSE rose 1.75
per cent or nearly 85 points to close at 4,928.59. The
broader, 50-share S&P CNX Nifty rose over 2 per cent
to 1,558.25 from 1,526.85.

SEBI
seeks clarifications on IPO application from TCS
Mumbai: Securities and Exchange Board of India
(SEBI) has said that it has made certain observations
and sought clarifications on the draft prospectus for
Tata Consultancy Services Ltd's initial public offering.
The book built issue of the TCS is lead managed by JM
Morgan Stanley, DSP Merill Lynch and JP Morgan India Pvt
Ltd. TCS, India's largest IT company, seeks to offer 5.54
crore equity shares of Re one each with a green shoe option.

Oil Tanking makes open offer for 20 per cent of S&L
Mumbai: Indian Oil Tanking Ltd has made an open
offer to buy out 20 per cent share capital of Stewarts
& Lloyds of India Ltd at Rs 33 per share. The company
has already announced that it has bought 54.90 per cent
stake in S&L, held by the Tata Group.
IndianOil Tanking has made an offer to S&L shareholders
to buy out 6 lakh shares worth Rs 10 each, as per the
Securities and Exchange Board of India regulations. The
offer will open on August 25, and close on September 23.
