Pakistan pushes for pipeline projects
Islamabad: With the Commerce Secretaries of India and Pakistan due to meet here on August 10 and 11 to discuss steps to boost economic and commercial cooperation between the two countries reports indicate that Pakistan is lobbying hard for India's approval of two gas lines emanating from Iran and Turkmenistan.

With the meeting between the commerce officials coming after a gap of five years, Islamabad has is keen to persuade New Delhi to put the Iran-India and Turkmenistan-India gas pipeline projects at the top of the agenda. The pipelines will pass through Pakistani soil and will tap the vast markets of the South Asian region.
