Finance Minister to clarify on transaction tax on Monday
New Delhi: The Government is likely to issue clarifications on Monday in the matter of the 0.15 per cent securities transaction tax, with the Finance Minister P.Chidambaram making a statement to the effect in the Lok Sabha. The Finance Minister gave the indication in response to a query from the Shiv Sena Member, Suresh Prabhu, who wanted to know as to when the Government would take a re-look at the proposal to levy 0.15 per cent transaction tax on securities transacted in the stock exchanges.
