SEBI:
80 percent interest waiver on registration fee
New Delhi: The Securities and Exchange Board of
India (SEBI) have slashed the interest liability to be
paid by stockbrokers on the unpaid portion of the turnover-based
registration fee that was introduced in 2002. SEBI's proposal
involves a one-time waiver of 80 per cent of the broking
firm's interest liability if it pays the entire unpaid
principal amount along with only 20 per cent of the interest
liability.

public offer is oversubscribed ten times
Mumbai: The Tata Consultancy Services' IPO was
oversubscribed by 10 times, according to data from the
stock exchanges. Bids for 57.18 crore shares were received.
According to merchant banking sources over 13 lakh retail
applications have been received. The issue is expected
to be priced between Rs.850 and Rs.875, the band at which
maximum number of bids have come in.

RBI:
FIIs may buy Godrej Consumer shares
Mumbai: The Reserve Bank of India has said that
foreign institutional investors can now purchase equity
shares and convertible debentures of Godrej Consumer Products
Ltd under the portfolio investment scheme through primary
markets and stock exchanges in India up to a 35 per cent
limit of its paid-up capital, with the company passing
resolutions to this effect at its board of directors'
and general body meetings.

MF increases stake in Indian Rayon
Mumbai: Indian Rayon & Industries Ltd has informed
the National Stock Exchange that Templeton Mutual Fund
has through its various schemes acquired 4,10,360 shares
of Indian Rayon & Industries Ltd taking its shareholding
in the company to 7.06 per cent. Giving details of the
acquisition, Indian Rayon said that Franklin India Bluechip
Fund (FIBCF) acquired 4,10,360 shares of the company through
market purchase.
