BHEL bags Rs.21 crore order from Shriram Vinyl
Madurai:
Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd has secured an order for the installation of a 40 MW steam turbine generator set along with associated auxiliaries, valued at Rs.21 crore, at the captive power plant of Shriram Vinyl And Chemicals Ltd, Kota, Rajasthan, belonging to the DCM Shriram Consolidation. The plant, erected to augment the power generation capacity, has to be commissioned in about 15 months, a BHEL press release said.

Bajaj sells a record 1 lakh CT 100 bikes
Visakhapatnam:
Bajaj Auto has set up a record by selling one lakh CT 100 bikes in 81 days since its launch in May in the country. The bike currently accounted for 60 per cent of the total motorcycle sales in the country. According to the compsny there was currently a waiting list of 5,000 and itwas increasing the production to meet the demand. Mr V. Prabhu Kishore, Managing Director of Varun Motors, also spoke.

Coates is now DIC India Ltd.
Kolkata: Coates of India Ltd has changed its name to DIC India Ltd. Simultaneously, its 100 per cent owned subsidiary Coates Coatings India Ltd is now DIC Coatings India Ltd. Coates of India is now a 65.76 per cent owned subsidiary of DIC Asia Pacific Pte Ltd, Singapore, which in turn is a wholly owned subsidiary of Dainippon Ink and Chemicals Inc, Japan, flagship company of the DIC Group. The DIC Group, whose net sales for the year ended March 31, 2004 was over $9 billion, is the world leader in the global market for printing inks, organic pigments and thermosetting resins.

Corsa cheaper by Rs.36, 000
New Delhi: General Motors India has announced a special promotional price of Rs.4.86 lakh, less by approximately Rs.36, 000, on the Opel Corsa as a festive bonus to customers. The company says that after tasting success with the Optra and the Tavera, there was now renewed focus on the Opel Corsa to improve its sales. This offer repositions Corsa below the Rs.5 lakh category making it affordable to young professionals.

Value Labs has $9 million expansion plans
Hyderabad: Value Labs, a Hyderabad-based technology solutions provider, has drawn up plans to invest about $9 million this year to establish its own technology centre in Hyderabad, set up a US office in Atlanta and fuel its expansion plans in the country by stepping up its headcount. The company is also considering the possibility of another centre in the country, possibly Chennai. According to the company the new development center coming up in Hyderabad would see an investment of about $7-8 million and the US operations would witness investments of about $1million mainly in terms of the Atlanta office and a marketing push. The entire investments would be through internal accruals.
