China eyes deal on iron ore exports
Beijing: China, the world's top steel-maker, wants to forge a long-term partnership with India for the import of iron ore to meet the growing requirements of the Chinese market, a senior industry official has said.

Currently, most of the transactions between India and China in iron ore were conducted under spot purchases or short-term contracts of less than a year.

A combination of factors including price and the lack of knowledge about each other had led to that situation.
