Prof Rajesh Kochhar on WAITRO committee
Hyderabad: Prof. Rajesh Kochhar, Director, National Institute of Science, Technology and Development Studies (NISTADS), New Delhi, has been elected a member of the Executive Committee of the World Association of Industrial and Technological Research Organisation (WAITRO), at its recently concluded Biennial Congress in Nairobi, Kenya.

WAITRO is an independent non-profit global network of research and technological organisations.

Prof. Kochhar will represent the Asia-Pacific region in the Executive Committee during his two-year term, according to a NISTADS press release.

Antony is new MD at Tata Tele (Maharashtra)
Mumbai: Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) Ltd, the listed subsidiary of Tata Teleservices, has appointed Charles Antony as its new Managing Director in the place of S. Ramakrishnan, who is relinquishing the position with effect from October 1, 2004.

Charles Antony is currently whole-time director (designated President & COO) of Tata Infotech.

He is also the chairperson of the worldwide Systems Engineering Council, said a news release from Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) Ltd.

24/7 Customer appoints Canada head
Bangalore: 24/7 Customer has announced the appointment of Ian Cavanagh as the President of its new Canadian operations. Cavanagh will manage the company's operations including the establishment of a Canadian "near shore" call centre that complements its offshore capabilities, said a company press release.

Cavanagh was till recently the president of Daruma Consulting, where he focussed on providing strategic guidance to start-ups in Canada and the US.
