Leeladhar appointed Deputy Governor of the RBI
Mumbai: V. Leeladhar, Chairman and Managing Director,
Union Bank of India and Chairman, Indian Banks' Association,
has been appointed Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank
of India with immediate effect. Leeladhar is expected
to take charge on Tuesday.
The appointment is for a period of four years.
Leeladhar has been the CMD of Union Bank of India for
the past four years since April 24, 2000. Prior to this,
he was the Chairman and Managing Director of Vijaya Bank,
where his tenure was three years beginning April 23, 1997.
Leeladhar is also a director in the boards of the Agriculture
Finance Corporation, General Insurance Corporation and
Export Credit Guarantee Corporation.

Prabhakar
Rao is new CGA at Finance Ministry
New Delhi: H. Prabhakar Rao, a 1969 batch Indian
Civil Accounts Service officer, has assumed charge as
Controller-General of Accounts (CGA) at the Finance Ministry
with effect from September 17.
An official release said that Rao has wide experience
in the areas of budgeting, finance and accounts.
Besides the Central Board of Excise and Customs in the
Finance Ministry, Rao has also worked in various other
Ministries including the Ministry of Steel, Mines and
the External Affairs.
