Indices bounce back
Mumbai: The BSE Sensex and the S&P CNX Nifty
registered sharp gains on Wednesday. The BSE Sensex closed
at 5527.56, up 64.95 points over Tuesday's close of 5462.61.
The S&P CNX Nifty logged a gain of 27.7 points before
settling at 1727.95 points.

LIC
and GIC pick up IDBIs stake sell off in TNPL
Mumbai: Industrial Development Bank of India (IDBI)
has sold 13 per cent of its holding in Tamil Nadu Newsprint
and Papers Ltd (TNPL) to Life Insurance Corporation of
India and General Insurance Corporation.
While LIC has purchased 10 per cent of the equity of TNPL
amounting to 69,63,800 shares at a price of Rs 64.20 per
share, GIC has acquired three per cent stake at the same
price.

Deccan
Chronicle to issue IPO for its editions in TN
Hyderabad: Deccan Chronicle Holdings Ltd (DCHL),
publishers of the Deccan Chronicle, have plans
to start three editions in Tamil Nadu one each
at Chennai, Tiruchi and Coimbatore and also to
raise funds of over Rs100 crore from the capital market.
The Rs122-crore publishing house's English daily has seven
editions in Andhra Pradesh.
In a draft red herring prospectus filed with the Securities
and Exchange Board of India, the company has said that
though the exact issue amount would be determined based
on the issue price discovered through the book-building
process, it plans to deploy funds to the tune of Rs 114.36
crore towards setting up of three editions in Tamil Nadu.
Of these proceeds, the company proposes to spend Rs 62.45
crore during the period October this year to March next
year and Rs 51.9 crore during the next financial year.
Deccan Chronicle is in the process of setting up
a printing facility in Cuddapah in Andhra Pradesh. Besides
Deccan Chronicle, DCHL also publishes Andhra
Bhoomi in Telugu as a daily, weekly and monthly.
