Ratan Tata made honorary citizen of Korean province
Mumbai: Ratan Tata, Chairman, Tata Motors, has been bestowed an honorary citizen status for the North Jeolle province in South Korea by Kang Hyon-Wook Governor of Jeollabuk-do Provincial Government.

The Tata Daewoo Commercial Vehicle Company's manufacturing facility is located in this province.

Ravi Kant, Chairman, Tata Daewoo, has also been made honorary citizen of this province.

The awarding of the honorary citizenship of North Jeolla Province is in recognition of the goodwill developed by the Tata group within the local community, a press release said.

Gaurang Shah takes over as MD at Kotak Life
Mumbai: The Chief Operating Officer of Kotak Mahindra Old Mutual Life Insurance Company Ltd (Kotak Life), Gaurang Shah, is taking over as the company's Managing Director. The board of directors of Kotak Life on Thursday have approved Shah's appointment.

The 42-year-old Shah, a finance professional for 21years, has been with the Kotak Mahindra group for over eight years.

He takes over from Shivaji Dam, who would be focussing on the strategic initiatives of the Kotak Mahindra group as director on the boards of Kotak Life and Kotak Mahindra Bank and member of the bank's management committee.

New MAIT President
New Delhi: The Manufacturers Association of Information Technology (MAIT) have announced the appointment of Rajendra Kumar as its new President.

Kumar, currently Vice-President of HCL Infosystems, brings with him an experience of over 25 years in the IT industry , a MAIT release said. He was earlier the Chairman for MAIT Northern region.
