FIIs and MFs net sellers at Rs.110.1 crore
Mumbai: Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) were net sellers in equities at Rs110.1 crore for the trading week ended January 21. Mutual funds (MFs) were also sellers in shares at Rs68.62 crore, according to the data available with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).

Foreign funds were net purchasers at Rs52.7 crore in the debt market for the period under review. Mutual funds were also net purchasers in the debt market at Rs 324.98 crore.

In the week till January 22, the BSE Benchmark 30-share Index ended the week marginally higher at 6183.24 over last close of 6173.82, a net gain of 9.42 points or 0.15 per cent.

SEBI doing in-depth study of Jet Airways IPO prospectus
Bangalore: The Securities & Exchange Board of India (SEBI) chairman GN Bajpai said on Saturday that his colleagues were taking more time than usual to clear the airline's IPO proposal because they needed a thorough understanding of airline business in order to protect investors' interest.

The largest private sector domestic airline in India has proposed to offer 17,266,801 equity shares of Rs10 each for cash at a price to be determined through a book-building process.

The SEBI chairman said corporate governance was "very important" and was a "societal issue", and emphasised the role of chartered accountants in this context.

JRG and Federal Bank tie-up for IPO loans
Kochi: JRG Securities Ltd has tied up with Federal Bank Ltd for providing loans for subscribing to initial public offers (IPOs). The rate of interest on these loans would be nine per cent, JRG said in a statement here.
