TMB sanction Rs.179.70 crore for windmills
Madurai: The Tamilnadu Mercantile Bank is promoting the setting up of windmill units to augment the sources of energy for generation of electricity.

According to the TMB, the bank has so far sanctioned Rs179.70 crore during the current financial year for setting up of 27 windmills in Sanganeri, Ayakudi,Pazhavur, Kangayampalayam, Anthiyur, Panagudi, Karunkulam, Ponramapuram and Puliyur for generation of wind energy of 34.725 MW.

SBT ties up with Kuwait exchange for rupee drawings
Thiruvananthapuram: The State Bank of Travancore (SBT) has entered into a rupee drawing arrangement with the UAE Exchange Centre in Kuwait, whereby, non-resident Indians in Kuwait can make remittances to more than 300 designated branches of SBT in India through the exchange centre, according to a statement from the bank.

With the establishment of this arrangement, SBT has rupee drawing tie-ups with a total of six exchange houses in Kuwait.

The arrangement with UAE Exchange Centre will come into effect from Monday (February 21).
