Markets: Budget expectations bring out the bulls
Mumbai: After five consecutive sessions of losses, the indices closed strong in the positive territory. The BSE Sensex closed at 6,589 (up 54 points) and the NSE Nifty is at 2,060 (up 17 points). Banking stocks led the pack of gainers. With no specific trigger for the markets to bounce back so sharply the day's gains could be attributed to expectations being built up before the budget.
