Bhattacharya is new MD at SBI
Mumbai: T S Bhattacharya has been appointed as the new managing director of the State Bank of India. Prior to his appointment, Bhattacharya was the managing director of SBI's associate bank, the State Bank of Indore, SBI has said in a release. The government has issued a notification to this effect, and Bhattacharya is expected to take charge from Monday.

He joined SBI as a direct recruit officer in 1969 and has been in service of the bank since then. Bhattacharya has also headed the retail banking, marketing, and product development department of the Bank's Corporate Office.
