Indian Science Award for C.N.R. Rao
New Delhi: Prof C.N.R. Rao, an eminent scientist, has been conferred the first Indian Science Award for 2004 for his contributions in solid state and material chemistry.

The Minister for Science and Technology, Kapil Sibal, has announced the award informed an official release.

The award was instituted by the then Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, during the Indian Science Congress held in January 2003.

B.M. Bansal joins IOC board as Dir. R&D
New Delhi: B.M. BANSAL has joined the board of Indian Oil Corporation as Director (Research & Development) in charge of its R&D Centre at Faridabad.

He was Executive Director at Indian Oil's Mathura Refinery before his elevation to the board, a company statement said here on Wednesday.
