William
Ford steps down from Ford Motor's board
Detroit:
William Clay Ford Sr., the only surviving grandson of
founder Henry Ford, will retire from Ford Motor Corp's
board after 56 years.
According
to Ford Motor, William Ford, has said he will not stand
for reelection when his current term expires in May. He
will become Director Emeritus after his retirement.
Apart
from Ford Sr the other two Ford family members on the
automaker's board are his son, chairman and chief executive
Bill Ford Jr, and Edsel Ford II.

China's
trade surplus continues to rise
Beijing: China's foreign trade, for the month of
February, went up eleven per cent to touch $84.45 billion.
Exports at $44.53 billion, have shown a surge of 30.8
per cent, while imports have come down five per cent at
$39.92 billion. The trade surplus for February stands
at $4.62 billion.
The European Union remains China's biggest trade partner
with bilateral trade amounting to $29.64 billion, growing
29.2 per cent over the same period in 2004. China's total
foreign trade volume reached $1.15 trillion in 2004 making
the country the world's third biggest exporter.
