Azim Premji
richest Indian
London: Azim Premji, chairman of the Bangalore-based software giant,
Wipro, is the richest Indian with wealth worth Rs31,198 crores. Mukesh and
Anil Ambani, chairman and vice-chairman respectively of the Reliance Group,
are the second richest in India with a combined wealth of Rs24,172 crores,
according to Success 2005, a new business magazine launched by the Eastern
Eye group of publications. Sunil
Mittal, chairman and managing director of Bharti Tele-Ventures, is third in
the list with wealth worth Rs.12,552 crores. He is followed by Shiv Nadar,
chairman, president and chief executive officer, HCL Technologies (Rs7,929
crores). Others
listed (in order of wealth) are: Malvinder and Shivinder Singh, president
and joint managing director of SRL Ranbaxy and Fortis Healthcare (Rs5,679
crores), Dilip Sanghvi, chairman and managing director, Sun Pharmaceuticals
(Rs4,965 crores), Kumarmangalam Birla, chairman, Aditya Birla Group (Rs4,172
crores), Brijmohan Lall Munjal, chairman, Hero Group (Rs2,905 crores), Subash
Chandra, chairman, Zee Telefilms (Rs.2,849 crores), Yusuf K. Hamied, chairman
and managing director, Cipla (Rs2,846 crores), Anil Agarwal, chairman, Sterlite
Industries (Rs2,619 crores). The
Hinduja brothers, S.P. Hinduja and G.P. Hinduja, chairman and president respectively
of the Hinduja Group, are listed as the thirteenth richest Indians with wealth
of Rs2,378 crore.
