Marc Faber:
Emerging markets may underperform
New Delhi: Top international investment advisor Marc Faber
has warned that the tightening of liquidity conditions in the US could severely
affect the emerging markets.
"It
is possible that for the next six to twelve months emerging stock markets
actually underperform the US stock market. That they would go down more than
S&P 500," Faber has said in an interaction with a TV channel. "It
is only in the next six months that I will be careful of investing in Asia
including India," Faber said. Faber,
who is famous for his approach to investing, said while he expects oil prices
to gain further he does not see demand for petroleum products slowing down
in Asia. "It (demand for petroleum products) may not grow as much as
in last two years but I don't see how it will decline...a lot of commodity
prices will depend on US monetary policy," Faber said.
