ITC's Yogi Deveshwar takes over as CII president
New Delhi:
The Chairman of ITC, Y.C. Deveshwar, has taken over as the new President of Confederation of Indian Industry from Sunil Kant Munjal.

An IIT-Delhi graduate, Deveshwar has handled key assignments in both the public and private sectors. He was the Chairman and Managing Director of Air India in the early 1990s and is currently the Chairman of ITC Hotels and Surya Nepal Pvt Ltd. He is also a member of the National Manufacturing Competitiveness Council.

Along with Deveshwar, R. Seshasayee has taken over as the Vice-President of the industry body. A chartered accountant by profession, Seshasayee is the Managing Director of Ashok Leyland since 1998, a CII release said.

New directors appointed to Ambuja Cement Eastern board
Mumbai:
The Ambuja Cement Eastern Ltd has appointed three new additional directors on its board, following the recent acquisition of majority holding in its holding company Ambuja Cement India Ltd by Swiss major Holcim.

The new directors are Paul Heinz Hugentoblerb, Onne Van der Wiejdec and Ramit Budhraj, said a notice to the stock exchanges issued by the company.

The board of directors has accepted the resignations of its members A.L. Kapur, P.B. Kulkarni and Santosh Senapati.
It has also approved the extension of the current accounting year by six months. It will be for a period of 18 months ending December 31, 2005. This will be subject to approval from the Registrar of Companies.
