Paris: The Airbus 380 landed in Paris for its maiden public appearance at the 46th international air show beginning Monday, with thousands gathering to get a glimpse of the super jumbo aircraft.

This European Airbus aircraft is all set to spearhead the company's battle with the American Boeing for contracts worth billions of dollars

The European aircraft maker is struggling to maintain the lead it took from its US rival just two years ago managing to reach only half of its sales target.

The airshow will see 2,000 exhibitors from 44 countries competing with each other.
