Dilip Shah is Chairman of International Generic Pharmaceutical Alliance
Mumbai:
Dilip G. Shah, Secretary General of the Indian Pharmaceutical Alliance (IPA) has become the Chairman of IGPA.

Founded in 1998 by the Canadian Drug Manufacturers Association, the European Generic medicines Association and the Generic Pharmaceutical Association, USA - the objective of IGPA is to ensure access to affordable quality medicines.

The Indian Pharmaceutical Alliance (IPA) was accepted as a member of the IGPA in 2002. The IGPA represents over 500 companies involved in the generic medicines and active ingredient industry.

These companies provide a substantial part of the pharmaceutical market in the European and North American regions, besides being players in other regions such as the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Latin America.

Arvind Mathew takes over as MD at Ford India
Chennai:
Ford India will have a new Managing Director with Arvind Mathew taking over as the Managing Director of the company from August 1. He is now Vice-President and Executive Director (India programs implementation and supply).

David Friedman is slated to take up an executive assignment for Ford in the Asia-pacific region. Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, Friedman said, "We are moving forward into an aggressive growth path in India with the world launch of a new vehicle later this year.''

Mathew said the proposed `all new premium' vehicle was designed globally with support from Indian engineers and the vehicle would be launched first in India. Mathew also said that the new vehicle would be latest in terms of styling and technology.

He hoped that with the launch of the new vehicle, Ford India would be able to ramp up its production capacity. The Marimalai Nagar plant near here could go up to one lakh vehicles a year in three-shifts with the new launch, he said. At present, the plant was turning out around 50,000 vehicles in two-shifts.

Syndicate Bank ED

Prakash P. Mallya took charge as Executive Director of Syndicate Bank on Monday.

A bank release said that Mallya was the General Manager of Delhi circle office of Canara Bank prior to this assignment.
