New GM for Corporation Bank
Mangalore:
Bantwal Ramanath Bhat has been promoted as General Manager of Corporation Bank with effect from July 18.

A bank release said here on Tuesday that Bhat has worked in various capacities, heading various divisions, including Collection and Payment Service, Human Resource Development, Product Innovation, Corporate Communication, Marketing, Resource Mobilisation, Customer Service and Economic Intelligence and Planning Division at the corporate office.

Bhat would handle Recovery Management, Credit Risk Management and Legal Services divisions of the bank.
Bhat is also Chairman of the Mangalore-Manipal chapter of Public Relation Society of India.

In the meanwhile the bank has also promoted Y.S. Jain as Deputy General Manager of the bank.

Infosys global sales head Pradhan quits
Bangalore:
The worldwide sales head of Infosys Technologies, Basab Pradhan, has quit to start his own venture.

Infosys officials confirmed Pradhan's resignation on Tuesday and said that he would be transitioning out of Infosys over the next few months. The company is yet to announce a replacement for Pradhan, who is based in the US. The US is the major market for Infosys from where it derives over 60 per cent of its revenues.

Pradhan, Senior Vice-President and Head of Worldwide Sales, is the second senior official in Infosys to resign in recent months. In May, Ms Hema Ravichandar, Global Head of HR, quit Infosys in her second stint.

Mr Pradhan was appointed Head of Worldwide Sales after the exit of its high-profile Global Sales Head and Director, Mr Phaneesh Murthy, in mid-2002.

Barista COO steps down
New Delhi:
Brotin Banerjee, COO of the Barista Coffee Company's (BCC) has quit the coffee chain after a short two-year stint.

Banerjee confirming his exit from Barista has also apparently confirmed that he is headed for the Tata group.

Banerjee had been roped in by the Tatas to head Barista's marketing & strategy division in mid-2003. Subsequently, he was appointed COO.

CEO Partha Dattagupta is now heading BCC.

In December last year, Tata Coffee sold off its remaining 34.31% stake in BCC to the Sterling group, as a result of which Barista became a 100% subsidiary of the Sterling group.
