Ashok
Sinha takes over as CMD, BPCL
Mumbai: Ashok Sinha has taken over as the chairman
and managing director of Bharat Petroleum Corporation
Ltd (BPCL) from August 19.
Sinha
has been Director (Finance) with BPCL since 1996.
He
is an IIT graduate with an MBA from the Indian Institute
of Management, Bangalore. In his 28-year-long tenure with
BPCL, Sinha has served in key areas such as finance, corporate
affairs, treasury operations and information management.
He
is also on the board of Kochi Refineries Ltd, Numaligarh
Refinery Ltd, Petronet LNG Ltd and Bharat Shell Ltd.

V.Roddam
takes over as CEO at Nipuna
Hyderabad: Venkatesh Roddam, a senior Deutsche
Bank official has joined Nipuna, the BPO subsidiary of
Satyam Computer Services, as its new chief executive officer
effective August 16, 2005.
Prior
to joining Nipuna, Venkatesh was the global head of Trust
and Securities operations for Deutsche Bank, based in
Frankfurt.
He
brings over 18 years of experience in the financial services
and banking industry in India and overseas.
Having
started his career with ANZ Grindlays Bank, Venkatesh
moved on to work with Emirates Bank International and
HDFC Bank.
He
had been with Deutsche Bank for the last eight years.

Rajesh
Sawhney appointed President, Reliance Entertainment
Mangalore:
Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Enterprises (ADAE) has appointed
Rajesh Sawhney as president of Reliance Entertainment.
An
ADAE press release said here on Tuesday that Sawhney would
be a key member of the ADAE leadership team in media and
entertainment space. He will initially focus on launching
the group's Internet and portal strategies, and providing
movies, entertainment and gaming content for Reliance
Infocomm.
Prior
to this appointment, Sawhney was the Chief Operating Officer
of Times Internet Ltd, the release added.

Rajiv
Gandhi Shiromani award for Dr. K.M. Thomas
New Delhi: The Global Economic Council has awarded
the Rajiv Gandhi Shiromani Award to Dr K.M. Thomas, Vice-President,
Analytical Research & Development with Aurobindo Pharmaceuticals
Ltd, for outstanding individual achievement and distinguished
service to the nation.

Bhatia, Governor of Kerala, presented the award on Monday
at a function held in New Delhi.
The
award is presented every year to achievers in various
fields.
Dr
Thomas was earlier awarded the eminent Pharmaceutical
Analyst Award by the Indian Drug Manufacturers Association
in 2004 in recognition of his contribution to pharmaceutical
analysis and research.
