Anant Talaulicar named vice president, Cummins Inc.
Columbus, USA: Anant Talaulicar, chairman Cummins India Ltd., has been named a Cummins Inc.vice president, the company has announced.

Talaulicar, 44, who also serves as managing director of Cummins India Area Business Organization (ABO) and of Tata Cummins Ltd., a 50-50 joint venture with Tata Motors, has been in his current position since March 2004.

Talaulicar has worked full-time for Cummins since 1988 and has held a number of positions in the company, both in the United States and India.

"Anant has done an outstanding job managing our business in India, which has become one of Cummins' most important markets," said Steve Chapman, Group Vice President - Emerging Markets and Businesses. "Anant's knowledge of Cummins and the Indian market will be invaluable as we continue to grow our business in India."

Talaulicar earned his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Mysore University in India in 1984, before traveling to the United States where he earned a master's degree in engineering from the University of Michigan in 1985 and an MBA from Tulane University in 1987.

Talaulicar also leads the Cummins India Foundation community development activities and is a member of the Confederation of Indian Industries, Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers and Automobile Components Manufacturers Association.

Madhur Bajaj to head SIAM
New Delhi: Bajaj Auto Ltd vice-chairman, Madhur Bajaj, was elected president of the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), while the Tata Motors Managing Director, Ravi Kant, was appointed as its vice-president at the society's Executive Committee Meeting held here today.

Bajaj succeeds the Maruti Udyog Managing Director, Jagdish Khattar, who completed his two-year term, a statement by SIAM said.
