SBH
gets new GM
Hyderabad:
CV Krishnakumar has assumed charge as general manager
of the State Bank of Hyderabad (SBH). Before this posting,
he was the deputy general manager at the State Bank of
Travancore at Thiruvananthapuram.
Krishnakumar
joined the State Bank of Saurashtra as probationary officer
in 1974 and served various assignments.

Bharat
Patel is reelected chairman of ISA
Mumbai:
Bharat V Patel, chairman, Procter & Gamble Hygiene
and Health Care, was unanimously re-elected chairman of
the Indian Society of Advertisers for the third consecutive
year. The election took place at the executive council
meeting held on September 23, following the annual general
meeting,
Patel
has been an active member of the executive council since
1991 and held the position of the chairman of the managing
committee since 1994, before being elected as chairman
of the executive council in 2002.
Kurush
Grant, divisional chief executive, India Tobacco Division,
ITC Ltd, Bijou Kurien, COO, Watches, Titan Industries
and Virat Mehta, VP, Nestle India were elected vice-chairmen
of 'east', 'south' and 'north' zones respectively. Romit
Chaterji, VP, corporate affairs, Tata Services was elected
honorary treasurer.
Dalip
Sehgal, ED, Hindustan Lever, was elected as the chairman
of the media committee.
Other
prominent members of the newly elected executive council
include: Hamid Ahmed (Hamdard), Amitabh (LIC), J.C. Chopra
(Consultant and Member Emeritus), Debanjan Datta (Crompton
Greaves), Paulomi Dhawan (Raymond), Rajiv Dube (Tata Motors),
Vinay Hegde (Colgate-Palmolive), Naveen Kshatriya (Castrol),
Jagmohan Malhotra (Enterprise For New Directions), Mr
B.O. Mehta (Pidilite), Rajiv Pal (Birla VXL) R. Ramakrishnan
(Bajaj Electricals), Mr K.S. Ramesh (CavinKare), Dalip
Sehgal (Hindustan Lever) and Brahm Vasudeva (Hawkins).
The
ISA represents the interests of advertisers in the country
and its membership accounts for around two-thirds of national
advertising expenditures.

Manu
Sawhney selected executive VP, ESPN
New
Delhi: Manu Sawhney has been promoted to the newly
created role of executive vice-president, programming
and marketing at ESPN Star Sports.
He
was previously the network's senior vice-president, programming
and event management. In his new role as executive vice-president
Sawhney will assume an expanded role, which includes two
additional portfolios, network presentation and marketing
communications.

Amrish
Sethi is creative director of Turner International
New
Delhi: Amrish Sethi has been appointed creative director
of Original Productions, a division of Turner International
India. In his current capacity Sethi will oversee all
future and on-going India based productions for Turner.
His key responsibilities include identification and commissioning
of suitable third-party formats and development of new
original formats for POGO, as well as supervision of all
production personnel such as series producers, writers,
art directors, music directors, talent, amongst others.
Original
Productions has developed and produced four local productions,
namely Prime Pogo, Pogo Amazing Kids Awards, M.A.D and
the recently launched game show, Bam! Bam! Bam! Gir Pade
Hum.

Reddy's
founding MD dead
Hyderabad:
MP Chary, 59, chairman of the Hyderabad-based Chary
group of companies, expired in the early hours of Monday.
Chary
was the first managing director of Dr Reddy's Laboratories.
He held theAfter a 10-year stint he became vice chairman
for two years.

is new chairman of TMMAI
Coimbatore:
R S Bachkaniwala, director of Himson Textile Engineering
Industries, Surat, has been elected chairman of the Textile
Machinery Manufacturers Association (India) for 2005-06.
Sridhar
Varadaraj, managing director, Premier Evolvics, Coimbatore,
and Anuj Bhagwati, director of ATE Industries, Mumbai,
were elected vice chairmen. Kirti Rathod, MD, Luxite Industries,
Mumbai was appointed treasurer.
