Blaupunkt
to have 30 brand shops in India by 2006-end
Chennai:
Automobile audio systems maker Blaupunkt, a part of Germany's
Bosch Group, has opened its seventh 'brand shop' in India
here. It also said it planned to have a total of 30 such
shops across India by the end of 2006.
Blaupunkt,
is aiming to increase its share of the organised car audio
market in India, besides increasing its 'brand recall'
through the network of brand shops.
The company currently has about 21 per cent share of the
Rs240-crore organised car audio systems market in India.
The
company feels that despite the fact that it sales have
increased in India from a nominal Rs3 crore in 1997 to
about Rs50 crore at present, the brand recall among customers
is still on the lower side and it makes sense to open
more brand shops.
The
brand shop will stock the complete range of Blaupunkt
'in car' entertainment systems such as head units (entry,
mid and high end), speakers, amplifiers and other accessories.
