Anil Agarwal to head Assocham
New Delhi: Anil K. Agarwal, president, Cosmos Group, has been elected as the president of the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (Assocham) at the 85th annual general meeting of the chamber.

Venugopal Nandlal Dhoot, chairman and managing Director, Videocon Group, was elected the senior vice-president of the chamber.

Deepak Parekh appointed chairman of Lafarge India
Mumbai: Deepak Parekh, chairman, Housing Development Finance Corporation, has been appointed chairman of Lafarge India. Parekh was earlier on the board of directors of Lafarge.

Lafarge India is a subsidiary of the French cement major Lafarge, the largest cement manufacturer in the world.

Ram Gopal to direct Percept`s international film
Mumbai: Film director Ram Gopal Varma has been signed on by Percept Picture Company to direct its second international production titled 'Within'.

Varma will be making his international directorial debut with this project.

The films will be produced with a budget of Rs27 crore ( US$6mn), and Varma will have a 15 per cent stake in the film apart from his directorial fee.

In August this year, Percept Picture company had announced its first international venture titled 'Tree of Life' starring Collin Farrel and directed by Terrence Mallick in collaboration with Sahara One Motion Pictures.
