Sony chief Howard Stringer addresses FICCI gathering
Mumbai: Howard Stringer, chairman and chief executive officer Sony Corporation addressing a FICCI meeting here said India was a strategically important market for Sony Corporation.

He said Sony was aiming to establish itself as a vertical entity from a horizontal one. He said Sony's global vision is to synergise its stand-alone business. In terms of business opportunities, Sony Corp sees great potential at the high definition televisions and is looking at high definition television, blue ray disc and other products.

He said that efforts would be made to improve the equity of Sony Entertainment Television, which is now at second position in the broadcast scenario in India.
