Multiple recipients of the `Personality of the Decade' award
Coimbatore: Subhir Raha, chairman and managing director of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation; T. S. Bhattacharya, managing director, State Bank of India; N. Ram, Editor-in-Chief, The Hindu; L Subramaniam, violin maestro; M.B.N. Rao, chairman and managing director Canara Bank; and Capt. G. R. Gopinath, managing director, Air Deccan have all been awarded the `Personality of the Decade' award, instituted by the KG Foundation.

Sania to endorse SACH bands
Hyderabad: Save a Child's Heart (SACH) Foundation has launched the bands that will be endorsed by tennis star Sania Mirza in the market.

A SACH release said the bands were put on sale at all the Apollo hospitals in the twin cities, Apollo pharmacies and Walden showroom. The proceeds of the sales would be utilised to perform surgeries on children suffering from heart ailments.

UK Sinha appointed as chief of UTI Asset Management Company
Mumbai: UK Sinha, the former joint secretary of capital market in the ministry of finance, has taken over as chief of UTI Asset Management Company. He was already on the board of UTI AMC.

Sinha's term would extend for two years. At present UTI AMC is managing mutual funds of over Rs 26,000 crore, and is one of the largest fund houses in the country, with a wide reach.

Sinha said that the government, along with RBI and Sebi, were in the process of reviewing the norms for mutual funds towards their investment in the overseas securities market, with the idea of relaxing of the same.
