Prasanth bags 'Best media planner/buyer in Asia' award
Mumbai:
Prasanth Kumar, Investments Director, GroupM, Bangalore,
has bagged the "Best Media Planner/Buyer in Asia"
award, given by the Hong Kong based Media Magazine.
The award was presented at a ceremony held in Hong Kong
on December 14.
The
Media Magazine awards recognise outstanding work
in media planning/ buying, creative, one-to-one, marketing,
account/business developments etc across the Asia-Pacific
region.
Prasanth Kumar has been with GroupM since 2004. He was
earlier with TME, Mumbai. He is a key member of GroupM
Investment team, headed by Lakshmi Narasimhan. Prasanth
Kumar oversees buying for key GroupM clients in the South,
including Britannia, Titan, Himalaya, Ford and IBM.
At
GroupM, Prasanth Kumar's achievements include the Lenovo
computer branding in KBC2, and the Titan-MTV partnership
deal that helped launch the Titan-MTV Masala watch collection.

Upadhyay new head of distribution at BBC
New Delhi: BBC World has promoted Amit Upadhyay
as head of distribution and business development for the
South Asian region.
Based
in Mumbai, Upadhyay will be responsible for maximising
and building on BBC World's current distribution base
and identifying business development opportunities in
the region.

Om
Prakash, new head of BHPV, to take charge
Visakhapatnam: Om Prakash, recently appointed managing
director of Bharat Heavy Plate and Vessels Ltd, will assume
charge on Friday, according to a company press release.
He
is now the unit general manager of Hindustan Machine Tools
Ltd, tractor division, Pinjore (Haryana).
A
mechanical engineer from the Delhi College of Engineering
and an MBA from Punjab University, Om Prakash underwent
training in erstwhile Czechoslovakia; he visited several
countries on official assignments.
