Choraria is new ICSI President
New Delhi: H.M. Choraria has been elected as the
president of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India
(ICSI) and Ms Preeti Malhotra has been elected as the
vice-president of the Institute with effect from January
19, 2006.
According
to an official release, Choraria has been re-elected as
the Central Council Member of the ICSI for the second
successive term (2004-06). Earlier, Choraria was the chairman
of the Eastern India Regional Council (EIRC) during 1997-98.
Ms
Malhotra was the first woman to be elected as central
council member of the Institute for a three-year term
(2004-06). She was also elected as the Regional Council
Member of NIRC of ICSI for two terms of three years each.
