Sanjeev Aga elected chairman of COAI
New Delhi: The Cellular Operators Association of India on Thursday elected Sanjeev Aga, director on the board of Idea Cellular Ltd, as its chairman for the next twelve months.

Aga takes over from Anil Nayar, who completed his tenure as chairman of COAI on Thursday. Naresh Gupta, chief technical and regulatory officer, Hutchison Essar, was elected vice chairman of the apex body representing the interests of GSM based cellular operators in the country.

At its annual general Body meeting held on Thursday, COAI also elected its new executive council team for 2006 which includes K.V.P. Baskar, Aircel; Narender Gupta, Bharti; D.B. Sehgal, BPL Mobile; Naresh Gupta, Hutchison Essar; Vikram Mehmi, Idea Cellular, S.P. Shukla, Reliance Telecom and Umang Das, Spice.

Brian Rogan is senior VP at Sierra Atlantic
Hyderabad: Sierra Atlantic, technology solutions provider, has announced the appointment of Brian Rogan as senior vice-president, strategic business and marketing.

Apart from helping the company build its financial services practice, Brian will be responsible for maintaining strategic relationships with Oracle, SAP, Microsoft, Agile, BEA, TIBCO, webMethods and others, a company statement said.

K. Subbaraman is new ED for Central Bank of India
Mumbai: K. Subbaraman has been appointed as executive director of the Central Bank of India.

Prior to this he was with Bank of India, as general manager, corporate planning and strategy, a press release issued by Central Bank of India has said. With the BoI, Subbaraman has held various assignments including corporate and retail banking and treasury management.
